wtf is wrong with my car? (fuel pressure WAS at 48psi, now it's at 80-100psi?!)
Literally, all I did was drive home last night and shut it off.
It was running BEAUTIFULLY.
Today, I go out and start the car and it is idling really low.
I decide that maybe since it rained, that the weather must've affected the tune a bit and as soon as it warms up it should be fine.
Well the car shuts off as I back out of the driveway.
This prompted me to pop the hood and take a look around...
I notice that the B&M fpg is showing 90psi of fuel pressure. This is odd because when I did the baseline tune on the car it was at 48psi...
Well I try to adjust the fuel pressure on my SARD fpr, and I can't get it to go down any lower than 80psi.
As if right on que, it starts pouring down rain on me, and so I say expletive it and take the 240 out.
Now, WTF is wrong here?
The car has (of course b18c5) toda itb's, toda spec C camshafts, and the aforementioned b&m fuel pressure gauge as well as SARD fuel pressure regulator. Of course I have the requisite hytech header and 2.5" exhaust.
The only thing I can think of is that the fuel pump is ******* up, or that the fpr or fpg is ******* up. I suppose maybe some of the underhood electronics could've gotten some moisture on them - as I have the hood shimmed to allow air to better get at the itb's...

possibly the gauge, or the return line is plugged up acting itself as a regulator, blow some compressed air through the return line to see if its clear
my B&M took a **** recently after only a short time mounted on my fuel rail. was your mounted on the rail by chance? from all the vibration from stiff motor mounts, wheel hop, etc, the glass on the gauge actually cracked. I tried to adjust pressure and the gauge wouldnt move so I thought it was my FPR. and when I removed the gauge, it was stuck on 60psi. get another gauge, make sure its mounted on the fuel filter and then try to make some adjustments and check all vacuum hoses.

I'm going to have to agree..... I've seen them break on other ppl's cars, but obviously it was something b&m has as a defect.....
Mine was supposed to be liquid filled but I don't see any liquid anymore.
It's mounted on the fuel filter as well, so *shrug*.
I guess I'll replace the fuel filter and gauge as well.
How are those aeromotive fuel pressure gauges? I think I'm going to get one of those.

My B&M crapped out in less than a year
. The glass also cracked on it too. Replaced it with a Marshall liquid filled and never looked back
.
However, a bad gauge shouldn't cause your car to run shitty.

You've got me on that one chum. But *shrug* is it supposed to be a liquid filled gauge? I hope not because there's no liquid in there right now..... I can only venture a guess that it did drop something in my fuel line or something... that's the only reason it'd run like ****..... I'm going to go with a new fuel filter and new gauge - and if that doesn't fix it, then a new fpr as well...

The B&M is NOT a liquid filled gauge. The Marshall works fine for me. I'm sure the Autolink is just as good. I'd just go with the cheapest one. They're only like $50; if that.
I wonder how long your gauge was reading 80+psi?
Maybe you sucked up a bit of water, or something else, through the ITB's
EDIT: Here's the link where I got mine - https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1159949

me too, $15 shipped or less I think, brand new. I promptly junked my b&m and the marshall has been doing me well.
when you say it was showing 90psi, was that with the vacuum line connected to the fpr?

I've been running the Autolink one for a few years.
The marshall one is a good candidate too.

I had a problem with my first SARD fpr that I bought when my car was turbo charged. I couldn't get it to the right pressure and it would never hold. Something I wouldn't expect from a unit that cost me several hundred bucks
.
I have another brand new one, but believe it or not, I've been using a cheap ol' B&M fpr with no problems.

hmm I have a SARD with my jenvey ITB's to install when I get my head back together, I hope it holds up.
Black R, I would take the valve cover off and rule out the timing belt...

I got it fixed last night.
I went over to kengs house because his itr powered si wouldn't start... I think it was because he was running his stock ecu to pass emissions and fouled out the plugs. We threw his power fc back in and got her running. Since his fuel pressure was already set, he told me to go ahead and borrow his b&m gauge to set my fuel pressure.
I pulled my old b&m gauge off and it was still reading 60psi after it was off the car!
LOL
So I put kengs b&m gauge on, and it was reading 30psi... too low! LOL - that was prolly from me trying to adjust below 80psi on the faulty gauge.
So I set it at 50-51psi at idle with the vacuum line off/ pinched. And at idle with the vacuum line on, it sits around 41psi...
Car runs like a top again! yay!

mine was on the filter for awhile...then I switched setups and moved it to the rail. everyone told me not to. it seriously didnt last more than a couple hundred miles while on the rail.
