I just blew my b16a2 from my 99 si and its knocking real bad which means the bearing are messed up. So i need to fix my car soon, what shortblock can i attach to my head and everything that will work without modification. Basically what shortblock will give me a stock fit. Does it also have to be a obdII block or can it be obd1? Thanks alot for reading my noob question, just need a quick answer!

 

You can use a shortblock from any gen B16, they are all interchangable

 

ditto that, I wouldn't try to change the type of block you have from a b16a. If you did then you'd have to deal with other issues( which I guess you don't want too.).

 

so a g1 b16 will fit on my 99-00 b16 head and all that?

 

That the jist of it, but I would still try to do a furom search and see what you can find on it...just to be on the safe side.
