Default timing belt effed up............

my buddy stripped out his timing belt on his 96 LS integra. I tore it apart, put everything back in time and put a new belt on. It starts up fine now but makes a noise, almost a "Grinding" sound and the check engine light is on. I replaced the timing belt on mine( 91 LS integra) and never had these problems..............Any ideas as to why the light is on and why it sounds like a coffe grinder.

lets see... here... 91 and 96 is way diff due to obd1 obd2 and its crank sensor is at the bottom where the crank gear is and yours is not... might want to check that engine light and come back on here and tell us what that CEL is so we can go from there..

he took his car to autozone and had the code checked. His MAP Sensor is bad, that would explain why it wouldnt start pulling till 4 grand.
