Default OEM rods for around 200 WHP...ls/vtec

my goals are for 180-190 WHP

my question is, will shotpeened LS rods not strech reving out to 9k. i want this to be a reliable build, and would rather spend a extra week working to get rods, but only if i have to.

also looking at gsr rods, i know they can hold 9k all day.

yea just get some arp rod bolts for them.thats the weak point on them.and for reliability you might be all right as long as you dont go to high on compresion. i got 13.1 on comp. and had to toon with c16 to stop pining, but im not daily driver, only track use.

if one week is all the difference then i would definitely just wait. not that the stock rods cant handle it easily, but why not do it all right the first time? youll not only be getting stronger rods but lighter as well making the whole rotating assembly lighter by a considerable amount. this will improve your throttle response and even net you a little power. dont be lazy!!!lol

i got a pm with a guy with rods for 210 sparks with arp bolts, so im gonna jump on that.

no my question is you cant run stock pistons on a forged rod correct? something about the wrist pin?

im doing a mild build not wanting any crazy numbers, if i could make around 180 for daily in a dc2 chassi i will be happy.
