Default Blown Engine :/ Need Help ASAP

I drive a 91 civic 4d with the d16a6 engine.

I was cruising back to the base here in norfolk when all of a sudden i hear a loud pop, and saw smoke. I imidiatly turn the engine off and push the clutch in. I coast to a stop and notice theres oil leaking all over the ground. So after standing around for about 30mins. I try and start it up rela quick to see if any of the internals start to clink. Well she started for a sec and died. I think the batt was mostly dead at htis point from the hazards being on. But it still turns over, however there isnt any oil in te engine by this point. All the oil splatter is located on the left (drivers) side of the engine bay.

Im not really an experianced engine builder. But if a honda engine is similar to some v8's i worked on id say that i blew an oil line/oil pan. I havent looked under the car yet since i dont have a flashlight with me. (spend 300$ on various tools and i dont buy a flashlight)

At this point really dont know what to do. Any input would be great.

-thanks

Look for a hole in the block or something like that, if a ton of oil came out its most likely due to a rod (or peice of rod) comming trough the block

Well your not going to belive this, just dropped the camera down a storm drain.....

And after looking at where the engine blew i need a new block. It blew out the bottom end near the crankshaft....

So there goes the car and the 600$ camera.

BTW: you can pick up a D15B2 or D15B1 or D16A6 block that will bolt right up for SUPER cheap. Hell, i had one sitting in my garage forever that I just dumped. If only I'd have known...

Well some good news. D16's are cheap, camera is wet but will work once it drys out.... and im off to go cry in the corner. /cry

The bad news is Mr. Connecting rod decided to met Mr. Block...

I will say one thing bout honda engines though, even with the hole in the block pouring oil and smoke it still runs....
