Lightest Battery ?
Looking to buy a lightweight battery. Anyone know which battery is the lightest ?
So far I have found these.
Hawker (Enersys) Genesis G13EP
compared to stock size (10.8 lbs vs 30lbs) --> lightest I found.

T1R lightweight battery (www.aj-racing.com) (13.5lbs)

Braille Auto (11.5lbs) (www.brailleauto.com)

Buddy Club (16.5lbs)

Odyssey PC 680MJT (15.4lbs)

damn...now i wish i had gotten the hawker... but i have the odyssey..and at 15 some lbs... thats light enough..
but i think the hawker might just be the lightest..from your research.. i always thought the odyssey and the heel toe were the lightest..

i think hawker & odyssey are the same company (or something).
You should make sure you're comparing the Batt. output capabilities as well. Some of the really small batteries may be insufficient for a daily driver.
BTW. I use the Odyssey 680 for my daily driver. Never had any probs. Just don't run your stereo, etc. while the engine is off. (duh)

That's like $100 more than an odyssey with the bracket. I'm sure for $100 you can find a way to save 3 lbs.
Your money though, not mine.

I use the Odyssey batteries, sure they aren't the lightest, but they work fine. If the lightest battery is2 lbs. lghter but $100 dollars more than the next lightest...is it really worth it? You could be getting "less" battery for more money; which would be a waste IMO.

I use a 25 dollar walmart lawn tractor battery. Can't weigh any more then 10 pds, 200 cca's and runs my b16 crx daily, and my dads b18 hatch all summer with no problems. You can even run ur stereo without worries. for a short period anyways.
My 11lb Hawker G13 is plenty strong for me for years now...outlasted 3 conventional batteries in my other car.
Except you're in Canada right? You should go with a 15lb-er like the PC680 to ensure super-cold morning starts are stronger.

The Braille Battery worked great for me in California, but now that it's getting cold here in Utah I had to pull it out after it failed to crank my car one cold morning, so those of you that live in colder climates should go with something a little bigger.

this you list as the pc368 MJT the mj is for metal jacket which weighs a couple pounds, you can get this battery without the metal jacket and weighs less same with the heavy automotive terminals remove those they are solid brass and weigh a lot, maybe 1lb? just use ring termimals, I have this battery and it does start in cold below 0degreeF weather. I got mine from some website they were in FL It was way cheaper than batterymart i think it was $75

After seeing some champion autoxer running his 89 si hatch on one, I must admit when the Hawker G13 finally dies, I will probably give this a try too.
