Auto EF owners: Have any of you shortened your shifter?
I'm wanting to get an aftermarket shift **** for my auto tranny CRX, but the shift 'rod' sticks up so far I'm not sure it would look good at all. What I'm thinking about is cutting the rod off so that when the shift **** is on, it hovers right above the shifter console.
I've got the stock **** off now, and there is a thin rod with a roller on top inside the thicker outside rod. I'm wondering if this will be affected if I shorten it. I'm not *really* concerned about the reverse lockout working or not, which I think is what this is for.
Does anybody have any pics or input on doing this? I've searched but found nothing, and it seems I saw a pic a long time ago but can't remember where.
Thanks!
