New O2 didnt fixe CEL 1 , now what ?
Just s the topic says.. I recently had my head rebuilt, put her all back together and all is well, vtec does work but I have a glowing amber engine light all the time immediately after I startup.
I changed out the O2 sensor (which is diagnosed by CEL code 1) and no change. I wriggled the wiring connection, followed it into the rest of the wire loom and doesnt seem to be crimped anywhere, before the head work all was working great..
I did all the work myself. JDM H22A jdm P13 Ecu ..
Any help/ideas appreciated

First reset the ecu by disconnecting the - cable off the battery or pulling the clock/radio fuse from the underhood fuse panel. If the same cel comes back then download a service manual from the net and follow the flowchart.
I have a helms manual but I can't find any area where it describes the trouble codes coming from the engine ... any idea what chapter this is ?
Ive tried pulling the battery numerous times and it still hasn't cleared the code.

Did you replace the O2 with a known good or brand new unit ?
After clearing the code, does the CEL come back on before you even start the car ? ( just ACC position ) If so you have an open or a short in the wire somewhere. O2 sensors are a pain in the *** sometimes.

hmm... i thought the engine light always wenet on when it was in acc and after the car started it went away ?? ...
How would I troubleshoot for a short in the wire ?? ...
oiy, last thing I want to have to do is re-run wires to the O2 to ECU ...
edit: yes, the new O2 is brand new NTK out of box.

When you first put the car into the acc position the CEL light is supposed to come on then go off. If it comes on and stays on after you have disconnected the negative on the battery for 5 mins and have plugged it back in, its most likely a short somewhere or the wire has been cut.
I had this problem with my ECT sensor wire. It was severed at the main harness at the shock tower and took me for damn ever to find it.
Im not certain the color of the O2 sensor wire. Id get under the car and search for an open after the plug to the ECU. Could have melted through or something random.
