the turbo i am running has a internal wastegate which i believe is set at 5 psi. how do i remove the internal wastegate so i can run an external wastegate for more boost? do i just take it off? do i have to weld the flapper shut on the exhaust housing? i need help 5 psi aint cutting it.

 

Is your wastegate rod adjustable? If not you can adjust the rod length to change your boost pressure!

If you switch to an external gate you will have to weld the flapper shut or make a solid rod so it doesn't open.
