Default Help! Bottom mount bolt wont come out.

Started to take out the driver side bottom mount off. Got the first bolt off then tried to get the second one out. The bolt came out half way and started to spin. How can I get this bolt out?

nut on the other side? WTF? did you look at the picture. with that mount there is no nut.

goes to show typical H-T. one person says a specific answer then there is like 10 more members with the same answer.

sorry noobie, but i have looked at a car, plenty of times. and if haven't noticed he's replacing the lower driverside mount not upper. the upper one has the welded nut, genius!

the lower one is feed through the chassis that is already threaded. better do your homework before running at the mouth with me!

It may not be an actual nut but it is a nut plate welded to the inside of the frame rail.

i just replaced mine about a month and half ago. like i said the chassis had threading, no signs of a nut. if there is a nut like you claim, then how will he reach into the chassis to replace it, since he has no access from no where.

apparently you never stripped a bolt going in, then went to take it out again and it keeps spinning. had this happen to my oil pan bolt. you mean to tell me there is a nut holding the pan bolt too?

TO THE OP, get a long screwdriver or a prybar. apply some pressure on it and take the socket and begin to unbolt it. it should come out with the pressure on it.
depending how bad the threads are you can either re-thread it or get an helicoil.

I'm not worried about the mount I just need that bolt off. Since I'm throwing my h22 motor into it.

There is a welded nut on the the opposite side of the chasis....I broke the welds off mine too and had the same thing happened as the OP. I ended up cutting the bolt, creating a bigger hole and welded a new nut on so it sits flush. The nut is still in the frame....doesn't hurt.

You can run your stubbon mouth all you want....

Honda would be dumb to "thread a sheet metal that is not even 1/8" inches. Consider the time to thread and consider the time to tack a nut. Which is stronger? which is faster?

Yepp I just took a hacksaw to the bolt and there is a nut welded to the frame. I guess the welds broke when I was using the impact.

make the hold bigger and weld a nut in flush with the surface.

I would cut the bolt off to get the mount out of the way then try to drill it out then retap it thats about it really you also can just make a new hole in the mount then drill a new hole in the frame and tap it thats really about it or just weld the mount to the frame or just don't use it
