Has anyone actually used the Avid Racing h series linkage conversion?
Ive been trying to get pictures of the shifter and linkage assembly from Avid for over a year now. As of late, they dont even answer the phone. The last I had spoken to them they had explained that the shifter assembly that comes with the linkage is a psring loaded unit that replaces the factory H/F series shifter for use with their solid linkage. I was also told that I would have to use solid mounts which makes sense, same goes for the G-Force long shifter.
For anyone wondering what linkage Im talking about

There is also a shifter assembly that comes with this set up thats is not pictured above.
Im looking for some feedback. Has anyone actually used this linkage/shifter set up? Do they even sell it anymore? If you have used it, what are your overall opinions? I am really curious how the linkage/shifter looks installed in a car, I was told by one individual that its a straight shot through the firewall to the trans. Ive never been able to confirm this though as getting pics from avid has proven to be a nightmere, Ive stopped trying.
Looking for info? Pics? Anyone?

Yup a straight shot through the fire wall thats the only way it can be done with rods like that. Also interested to get some feed back. There is also a guy on here selling a sequential shifter on here that looks like a good option also.
lol i tryed to buy both of theses at one time or another the avid i tryed to buy years ago they actually sent me pics of the mock up car was a 92- civic hatch and you pretty much had to remove heater core ,passenger seat it needs to be a straight shot ,,and at the time they quoted a price to me of 500 i tryed to buy but n/g then about a year latter i seen it again up for sale and they quated me 300 and still couldnt get it so i dont know bout that one and the sequential shifter i wanted 6 of them the guy told me through pm he could get them but it would take some time wich i figured but when i gave him my number he said he could not get through cause it was long distance or something so i took his number and it had 10 digits so that didnt work to well ,,so i dont know but one of the guys i was going in with the sequential shifter buy found another one and i will ask him bout it and try to get info
I dont have a heater core or passenger seat in my drag car so for me, that is not a problem.
All Ive really heard so far is that only a few (pro racers) have these things and that they are impossible to buy from Avid. Ive wanted the linkage/shifter assembly for well over a year now. It would be nice to get at least some info and pics from Avid and of course, being able to actually buy the product would be nice as well.

Just looking at the pics cant you guys have a fab shop make some for you on your own car? It does not look all that complicated.... but at the same time I am not a fab guy
it prob aint hard to make and was thought about already what it came down to as far as the most important peices where the rod joints i think they used aurora not sure but when we where talking bout them they where a special link and where expensive
Trending Topics
the rod joint ends are cheap, rods are cheap, just going to take some engineering. if i knew they would be a significant improvement over cables i would fab up a few sets.
i agree the rod ends are cheap but the discussion i had with him he stated he did not use the cheapr rog ends he had a specific brand that he used he said others would bind up this was a conversation about 2-3 years ago it was in a post also
Either Avid needs to stop jerking everyone around and get serious about their products and the way they conduct business. Or, somebody needs to get on the ball and engineer a product/linkage kit that the H, F and K (specificly H/F) users can benefit from. Make it to work with the G-Force Longshifter and your good to go.
Its hard to believe that Im not the only one whos been trying to get this product for 1-2 years directly from Avid, with no luck. If Franklin or anyone else from Avid sees this thread I, and Im sure everyone else, would apreciate some sort of explination as to why we cant purchase this product, when it will actually be available and possibly some info and pictures as well.

Hey Pat, how's everything? I have already talked to the gentleman that posted this subject and told him that I was e-mail him the pics to post cause I have no idea how post pics on Honda-tech. I'll be in touch with you soon.
^^^^^^^^ im pretty sure this guy was the one who emailed me pixcs of the linkage in a 92-95 body civic a few years back
Do you guys think there's a way to do a conversion like this for a 5g prelude. I shifted the non-cable b trans and loved it! Is this what gives the B series better shift-ability than the H?
