Why the change of price for AEM? or am i getting ripped?
I was looking to get my car tuned with AEM soon and the local tuner dude around here told me about 2 months ago he could get AEM for 1000 bucks and tune it for 400....i talked to him the other day and he said that he can only get AEM for 1400 now...i asked why and he said somthing about the old ones would stop working right or something and that the new ones have like something in it so it wouldnt like get hit or mess up or something....thats not exactly what he said but i forget what his exact words were....anyone know why? or what the hell he is talking about? and is 400 expensive for a street tune??? he is a good tuner i guess, has tuned lots in the area and had a hatch that did 10's. thanks.
AEM had a decent sized price increase effective July 1'st if I remember correctly. Also, if he's tuning the setup on a dyno with a load controller, $400 sounds like a good price to me..
When you say Street Tune you mean drive it around and tune it on the street?
Or tune it on a dyno with Wideband and tune it to drive on the street?
Does this guy have an actual shop, or does he just tune peoples cars on the street?

You can take it to a shop and get it tuned correctly for $400. And you will be able to find the shop if something goes wrong.

is the guy your talking about Brian??? if so i'd go to him.. he's the last one listed on earl's list ... he's one of the best tuners you find
You would propably get a better Price if you went to a actual shop. ACTUAL shops have buying power and usually a better discount than your local "Johnny street tuner"

why not? not making any money on the AEM but if you buy it from him then you have to get it tuned by him....or at least i would work out some type of deal like that.
