Default melted cat

just wondering if anyone else here has melted ther cat converter due to the stock ecu running hell rich in the upper rpms
just yesterday my cat converter **** itself. last time i was on the dyno af ratio was in the 10's, that was with intake, since then have added header and exhaust 2 1/2"

i know its my fault but funds were not there to buy power fc and gears
later

good lord! 10:1??!?!?!? What you need to do is in to invest in these 3 things..maybe..Of course this is all opinion...everyone has their own preference on what to buy...

1. fuel pressure gauge ~$20 US Dollars
2. fuel pressure regulator ~$80-120 US Dollars for a decent one..(none of that bling&m crapola)
3. a/f gauge ~$100-250 (again...for a decent one..no Autometer junk) I recommend a Defi gauge (which I have and love) or the more expensive Greddy a/f gauge which comes with its own o2 sensor.

I honestly don't know how the heck your stock ecu could be running so rich I'm running 3psi over stock right now and I'm reading around a 14.5:1 for partial throttle cruising, between a 14.0:1 to 13.8:1 for WOT in every gear depending on RPM. My car seems to be happy with a 13.7ish ratio...

btw...I like the defi and greddy gauges because those gauges read an actual number..unlike the Autometer which just show colored bars that tell you that you're rich/stoich/lean

beats me how rich it is
like i said when i was on the dyno last, b4 header/exhuast, the intake made about 5 hp up until vtec, but after it just went rich as and ended up losing 10hp up top.

i have desposit down for fc and gears and should have them soon, exhuast place http://www.exhaustdynamics.com.au said i was lucky the cat lasted the some 7000km that it did
are well
more money to be spent

in regards to u, how dont u ping if your af ratio is 14's with usa shitty fuel, unless u have a standalone and have tuned the ignition

14 isn't that bad...if I was running 15+ then I'd be worried... btw..I'm running a ctr ecu in my 2000 Si. Stock fuel pressure is 43psi w/ vacuum off...I'm running 46..thinking about doing 48...
