Default Torque Wrench Issue, dialing in below lowest setting tick mark

I'm was doing to head work and the the torque specs for the cam shaft holders at around 7-9 ft-lbs

My big craftsman torque wrench has the lowest setting at 20 ft-lbs. I'm able to turn the the dial past the lowest tickmark and guess at where the 7ftlbs should be. Is this is an accurate setting? or am I way beyond the threshold of the wrench?

the 7 ftlb setting compared to the 9 ftlb setting seems kinda the same... and it's kinda weak, I'm just worried since it's for headwork.

well... i'm able to use either Newton Meters or Foot Pounds on my torque wrench. The Helms Book gives it to you in both settings.

it's only a matter of units, so it should be the same. I'm just worried about not having the correct torque because my wrench don't have the tick marks go as low.

The marks don't go that low for a reason! Use a different torque wrench.

Torque wrenches are most accurate in the middle of there range. You really need a couple torque wrenches to work on Hondas.

you are not supposed to use the upper and lower 20 percent of the indicated range let alone go below the range.

just go to sears, buy the one you need then return it lol
