So, I am trying to plan a fall ride before it gets too cold out - and looking to map out a 4-500 mile route that I can do in a day. Is there any decent software out - say a mashup for google maps that will let me trace over roads and calcutate mileage and what not? I did a search for both subjects in the title and found nothing.

I think google earth can do it, but I dont know if the free version can calc distance or not. They have other versions but they cost $$$
