so my car has an idle issue. it idles high sometimes and low at other times. its also jerking real bad when getting on/off the throttle. I checked the cel and got a code 7. I tested the tps and its reading .5 idle and 5wot. so my tps seems to be working. I also replaced the map sensor. am I missing something here? should I still replace it? I'm stumped. TIA!

see if ur ecu is FRIED... happen to me, the diode or resistor that was reading the TPS signal was messed up bad

I never would have thought about that. how would I go about checking to see if the ecu is the underlying issue here?

 

easiest way = find sumone with same ecu and just borrow for test drive.
