compression low i got #'s now need answers d-series
i did a compression test on a d15b1 today and went 120,120,120,125... but the motor was cold... need to know if this is a bad amount which i think it is cuz my d15b hit 175 but that was a higher compression motor if there is any clue i presheate it... thanks

opening the throttle does nothing on a comp test. those numbers are a lil low but atleast there even across the board. they should be arround 160.
Make sure your compression tester is acurate maybe try another comp tester and see what u get.
also since this is boosted? what is the vaccume at idle on ur boost guage? it should be arround 17-21 inches

Do a test WOT and not WOT youll see theres a pretty big difference because when its closed throttle no air goes in so your limited.
I will agree your compression tester may be busted. Also how many turns are you giving the car? Your numbers are directly even with each other and thats not usually signs of a bad motor. Youll find bad motors with 140, 120, 130, 140 something like that but one will be greatly lower then the others. Things you could try if the tester is good to your knowledge is try a valve adjustment.

my vaccum gauge says bout 17 so i think im good there but with my old motor i remember it was at like 25... also could this mean that my timing has jumped a tooth... it seems very slugish..

Very true, if they're the same when they're cold then they're all the same when they're high but higher, I wouldn't worry about it. Is your car lower than any other D15B1 on power? I mean ****, if it's boggin out, then yeah, something's fucked up, but if it's fine, don't worry about it. Numbers are close, and if the engine's still fine that's all that matters.

i minime'd the motor and it rips... runs super clean and smooth.... im gunna take some tests on compression and c how badly it drops over the weeks hopefully everthing will turn out good..
