Entire car vibrates, what could be the cause?
My car rumbles alot. I don't know why. I got so used to it over the years that when I finally rode in my friend's car last weekend I realized I had a problem.
It does it at idle, and slowly goes away as we accelerate. The interior, cargo cover, and fenders all make audible noises from time to time. I searched and found things about loose mounts and bad mounts. I checked my mounts and found on my drivers side one that the bolt backed out a little. I tightened it up and that made it a little better, but not what it should be. My rearview mirror sometimes shakes like my sub is hitting, even though the sub hasn't worked in 5 months.
If I do in fact have bad mounts or inserts, could I go and get some Energy Suspension mount inserts? Would that make the vibration worse? If I am trying to make my car a better daily driver, what inserts should I get to increase ride comfort?

Your timing could be off? When I finally got my car to run, it ran rough and shook pretty violently...until I fixed my grounding and gave it a good tune up, now its as smooth as silk.
However, I never have actually driven my car yet, so I dont know if it would have vibrated at speed...

I did my timing a year and a half ago. Before I did, it only got 20 MPG in town, and it was slow. To this day it still gets 28 MPG in town and runs freaking strong clear up the powerband. Timing cannot be the cause.
I was thinking along the lines of worn bushings somewhere and possibly bad torque mounts (front/rear).
Bump!

I think it could be the mounts. Hrm can't think of anything else besides the engine that would shake the entire car. Especially with it being an EF. Mounts/Bushings IMHO.
