Hey guys,

I am going to look at some GAB rims from this guy on a local forum. I am wondering how to tell the difference between GAB's and the Rota knock-offs.

What about weight? Stampings? Center cap size? Wheel material?

There has to be a reason people will pay 3X as much for an authentic wheel versus Rota

 

stamps....take a close pictures then post it here and we'll do the justice.

 

valve stem. gabs have a cutout for the valve stem on the wheel. rotas just have it sticking out the lip. stickers on the wheel. gab imprint on a spoke on certain years. center caps. MADE IN JAPAN printed inside. uhm. i dunno what else. never really looked at my wheels that closely. valve stem is the easiest to spot tho.

exactly, and if thats the case i have a set of rota grids copies for sale for 3000.
