Default ITR Interior Pieces - Faux CF Removal?

I'm in the market for the following

USDM ITR Cluster (Need it for the tach)
USDM ITR Climate Control (Need it to match my Defi's )

Anyway, I personally don't like the look of the Faux CF, and was wondering is there a way to keep the original black pieces when swapping the new stuff in.

The parts diagram shows that the cluster won't be an issue, but what about the climate control?

Why not just get the parts from a 97-98, which did not have the faux CF to begin with?

the CF on the climate control is just a removable face plate, so yes...you can remove it. BTW i have a plain black plate from a climate control if you are interested.

I'll get you a pic tonight of the one I removed from the back of it so you can see what you need to do. I know it was a royal PITA to remove.

Thanks everyone for the input. Thosep pics would be great.

I have some 98+ stuff I can get my hands on for a fair price, which is why I can't do the Canadian or sub-98.
