Default B16's in the 11's all motor???

I believe I saw one member with a sig stating a B16 all motor quarter mile time in the 11's. If you have done this can you post up a few of the specs of the car/engine. I am getting close to the 12's and wondering what it takes to get that 11.

possibly a b16b stroked with a b18 crank, to get a car from 13.3 to 11.9 is a gigantic step. i would think you would need some crazy compression on race gas and some radical cams, toda D's? i guess it depends on how much $$$ you want to throw into the mix.

I know when we did our motor project video the owner took his EM1
out and pulled a 13.3 @ 105 with it on Azenis. Nothing in that car
suspension wise was ideal. The tranny was a B16 with a 4.7, action
1MD clutch and ACT prolite flywheel with a ATS first gear. A GSR
second gear would have been ideal. That car had 12s in it on
slicks and it was only making 195/120 on a dynojet. Check it out
in the sig. The package is on the website and there are ways that
motor could have been improved. Had there been the time:

-Take a bit more off the head (ports were stock size)
-11.3-5 to 1 bump to 12:1
-Ported IM or ITBs (properly sized)
-310 or 370cc or RC injectors
-Skunk S3 cams (something with a reasonably sized primary
cam because the B16 needs the engine acceleration to transition
to nasty VTEC lobe or the velocity will drop and lose power on top
end)
-81mm PR3 pistons replaced with CPs (for 12.0:1)
-Lightweight Rod (crower maxilite)
-AEM system with Individual Coils
-raise limit from 9300 to 10K

With about 220whp/140tq (can be done on a stock bore/stroke B16a)
and the right gears/wheel size, a lightweight and
STRONG chassis, suspension an awesome (tiny) driver... high 11s
I believe is possible on a stock bore/stroke B16a on pump gas

This is definately not your bang for buck setup... this is more of a
"it can happen if you know what you are doing... and you spend
some money"

Thanks for the good info. I wasn't expecting 11's on my setup. I know I saw someone with an 11 in his sig. That's what made me wonder.
My chassis is light at 1800 lbs without me that I believe with 210+whp I could do it.

I agree though, it isn't a best bang for your buck choice. I would do it if I could afford it, just to put the 'big blocks' to shame. haha

no doubt...high strung b16s sound amazing at 9500+rpm...
140whp per liter at the tire is a goal everyone should strive for
a.k.a. 223whp on a B16a would love to see that
someday.

A little update for my current setup.
I managed a personal best of 13.02@101.75mph on the last run of the season. Next year I will have my 12 and with proper shift points, the mph will be back above 102 again. I can't wait, it's going to be a long winter.
