I need more tire under my car. Is there anyway to run a 225-50-15 on a CRX? I doubt it for my 205's rub on occasion, but I really need more tire.

You need bigger tires too I saw your video. Around turns, my car wheel spins on demand, for an instant push of the front tires. I need to swap my ST bar onto this car.
See if that helps any.

What are you willing to do to make them fit? I ran 225/50-15 Kumho V710s on 15x8.5 wheels on my 89 Solo II hatch for a couple years. It certainly does not bolt on, and took some liberal massaging of the fenders (front and rear) to fit.
I've now moved on to something much bigger, and it took some serious mods to get them to fit. I'm not 100% done yet, but the car works really well so far.

Even with the 225s, I don't think the J's flares would have been wide enough. Now I know they aren't. Its a work in progress, and will have some flares on it the next time its out.

I rub now too. I'm on Nuespeed Race Springs, with KYB AGXes, but soon I'm switching to Koni SPSS w/ Ground Control F 800lbs R 875lbs springs. Thats the plan anyway. I plan on rolling the fenders more than they are, or possibly flaring it.
Visual mine is the red one!

how do you like the neuspeed race springs bart? i used to have the sports and they are by far the best riding springs i have ever driven for an ef...i still regret selling them to this day...
rolled fenders are a good idea if you do them right...ive seen people totally rape their cars by trying to roll their fenders...like the hatch above an excessive roll is gonna look fugly...i like the way the 225s look but the second pic is just outrageous...those flares look bad *** but your gonna stick out like a sore thumb

I hate the springs it is the worst ride ever. It might be because I have a swap, and the extra front weight, but I doubt it for my car is on a thorough diet. I should put my beater back to stock, and rob the Skunkworks coil-overs off of it, and put those on the AGXes for now. But I only have a few more months of driving left. It's about to go deeply under the knife again. I'll probally just run these till sping, and then do the Konis.

no **** huh....when i put the h&r race springs on mine for some reason i got slightly positive camber in the rear and ridiculous negative of 4 degrees up front...at first i thought i put em on backwards and when i switched em the car dropped even more up front and was way too high in the back...my car is fully gutted as well...im talkin two seats and a dash here...i have a feeling that is what is causing it...but anyways back to the original subject...i dont think 225s are gonna clear with that ride height...maybe for straightline, but its gonna rub like crazy around corners and bumps...some people can live with it, but i hate the fact that when im hookin a high speed corner the tire rubs so hard that i feel it affect the balance of the car...after a while its gonna destroy the tire depending on the severity of the rubbing...if you want ill take pics of my tires tomorrow and you can check it out...and im still 205s...but then again im dumped, so i dunno...
theres pretty much two methods for rolling fenders...the mild way that you can do by hand or the drastic way where you either need two strong buddies or a floor jack and a baseball bat...what i like about the baseball bat method is that when you do it pushes the fender up and out instead of just up...you just need to be super careful or else your gonna expletive up your quarter panels...the front is easy its the back wheels u need to pay special attention to

That's the price you gotta pay to go fast in SCCA Solo II Street Modified class.

you could prolly work it out using some lower offset rims somewhere bet. +38 upto +40.
am using 205/50/15 bridgestone GIII's on a volk te37 +43 offset and it does not rub at all even with 4 adults at my back.
i'm using kyb agx with GC lowering coils if that matters.

You'd have a very hard time putting the 225/50 on, keeping it under the arch and not rubbing...
I was in the same boat wanting more tire, test fitted it on my new wheels and new off the bat it would rub, and mine isn't even that low (on Eibachs).
Why not just swap to a different grade tire.
BTW...I went back with 205s

I have Azenis 205-50-15s and they helped a ton. Mabey I just need to get used to it a little better.

Do you plan on streeting the car much? Have you ever looked at the RA-1s?
