balancer shaft belt install
I have a jdm h22, I dont know if there is any difference in installing the balancer belt. My manual says to remove the maintanance bolt and put a 6 x 100 bolt through it and that should be where it needs to be, well, according to my manual there should only be one exact place the bolt should be able to go in, but I kept turning it and I found another place where bolt goes in as well, so which one to I use?. Has anyone else run into this, and there is 2 other markings, a dot and a v shaped notch, does anyone remember where they line up so I know if Im in the right opening on the shaft. Thanks in advance for your reply.
I would like to know this to seeing as how I am pulling my engine tomorrow to install timing belt, man tensioner, bal belt, clutch and flywheel. Thanks for the info, I am listed as a noob and can not PM.
Ok I found this on a different forum, but I havent verified it, I will do so tomorrow. here it is:
The only tricky part is that on the rear shaft, it takes 3 rotations of the pulley for 1 rotation of the shaft, so you have to make sure you're starting it on the correct rotation. So basically, align the dimple at the top & let go of the pulley, if it naturally stays put, you're all set. If the shaft wants to "fall over" & rotate itself, you need to spin it 360 degrees & try again until you get the shaft so the balance weights are at the bottom & it holds itself at TDC.

Ok, I turned the pulley until the dimple was on top and it did not move, I took the maintanance bolt and the 6x100 bolt went through, I put everything back together and car is running great. Hope this helps anyone else in the future.
I am replying to a post you made over 2 years ago about a balancer shaft belt install and the 6x100mm bolt that is used to hold the rear shaft steady. You made it sound like you have a link to a service manual, mind sending it to me?
Thanks
Thanks

Finally replaced that shitty aftermarket OEM crank pulley for a honda one, that actually has the rubber built in and re aligned my balancer belt, hope this gets rid of my nasty engine vibration at about 6700 so i can take it to 7500 if i want....ha. I will post to add later if either one of this fixes the problem.
Thanks for finding this out, the shaft wants to fall till the weights are pointing to the ground. But the maintenance bolt goes through the shaft, from where it lines up, i just set the sprocket when it balances by itself i was able to get it closer.
Finally replaced that crank pulley I will post to if this fixes the problem.

NO, its called I used the search button to find valuable info, and not starting a post.
Any ways problem fixed. The rear shaft when it finally is at rest on the third rotation will sit in somewhere of a range of about an inch so i wonder if it still works in that range, I didnt want to experiement, I think i got it set dead on, and now the car is smooth again, I dont know if switching to a factory OEM crank pulley and not a OEM replacement helped as well, but Im happy.
