Default 2 probs

my friend as a si and is trying to install a big ricer tach in his car but it won't work . our question is what wirtes do i cut and connect the tach too.

my other question i'm trying to put his si cluster in my car and the tach sin't working. any suggestions

both tachs? the big one he said he bought new but i'm not sure how to hook it up

the tach the big ones that have a light bulb to tell u when to shift the ones that 16 year olds get u hook it up someware with the distributer

prob near the coil. i'm going to go outside and look. but still how to i hook the si in my dx i know it should jsut plug in and go but it doesn't work when i turn the key it jsut go to 1000rpms and stay on even with the engine istn' on

Have you checked all your wires and connections? I know you hook up the tach to one of the distributor wires. I can tell you tomorrow.

I wired mine to the ecu rpm wire, just search for pinout for your ecu, and use one of those wire splice things. Odds are you need to cut both wires on the back of the tach. I took my huge tach out , thought it looked Tachy

when i hooked up a tach in my old car i just hooked the wire to the plugs on the back of my gauge cluster i think its a blue wire back there but im not sure mabey iwth white with blue line but that wire goes out to the dizzy. i have to check to make sure though

i think it is blue. that what the wiring diagrams say in the books i have. the only prob is the books aren't for my car.

nwo why won't the si cluster wonrk in my car and suggest on how to test it?

(p.s. my friend bought his ef for $300 it's in rough shape but it runs the other guy hack it up bad.)

arite i got the big tach to work there's a magent inside that fell off.

my next question is why doesn't the stock tach work could it be the same thing?

si tach prob solved i took the covor off the cluster giving me acces to the neddles. with the cluster in the car. i juved the needle around still it sat at around 1750 rpm then i reved motor and the tach move with it. so i don't know if it's acorety or not but i'll find out latter. i need to spend sum time with the gf she sat in the house all nite last well i mess with it so hope this gives hope for everyone with messed up tachs (told you guys this car was hacked up lol)
