my old CRX HF back in 1997-2000 D16A6 all headwork, stock block, Exospeed SR909 camshaft, DC headers, Generic homemade intake, Ported TB
At its peak did 142hp @116tq. Best time was 13.6@99mph around 1998

Then I had time and money to build a new setup for another CRX in 2002:

about 1.7L, 13:1 compression, Custom Exospeed camshaft, full headwork.
This one did 195hp but wasnt fully tuned.
Ran decent at launch, but there was something wrong with the motor we couldnt figure out at the track. Discovered it was a bad OEM pulley that was cracked and was causing alot of wobble and vibration at high rpm. Best I did was 13.30 @ 84mph. Pulled out the motor after the pulley flew off the car at the track. by that time the bearings and crank were destroyed already, only after a few passes.

Trying to build a new setup for next year if time permits. We want to do a 1.8L D16 and break into the 200s for a street car setup.

haha. I tried and tried. 3rd and 4th gear was just dead. It launched hard 1st and 2nd, but that bad pulley had destroyed the bearings and car wasnt going anywhere after the launch.

The skunk2 cam I believe are too mild to make any substanial real power. You are better off with crower or even exospeed. I'm building a all motor z6 for my daily driver. Its nothing crazy, just some p29 pistons, arp rod bolts, skunk2 or y8 manifold, velocity stack, rsr header, and little stupid things and maybe a crower stage 2 or stage 3, unless exospeed or any other single cam expert can persuade me otherwise. I plan on beating up on b16 lol.

O, lol, I get it now. You slowed down at the end of the track. I was like sitting here thinking how the **** is that possible?!

sick makes me wanna kill my turbo build and stay n/a but for 13's in a daily driven 89 crx si with a6 and full interior seems kinda hard for me to accomplish thats all i want is 13's.

how about this set-up

zc sohc
p29 pistons
y8 head gasket
z6 intake mani
b18a tb
mild ported a6 head with welded chambers
stage 2 exospeed cam sr909
4-2-1 dc header
2.25 exhaust
test pipe

stuff like that what do you guys think just looking for ideas

how do you guys set-up for a 1.8 d16 what kinda crank custom or what i might just stick with a 1.7

question 84mph why would u need 4th? i though its like 90 is the top of third. maybe its just b-series but what tranny? my old d16a6 would pull better in 3third than in any gear, it was a si tranny that just had cai and header. sry i'm just not seeing a car taking off that fast, and just dying in third.yes d-series have a long third but with ur setup thats not goin to slow u down that much.

if u have a time slip u could post that would be cool, not saying ur a lair its just hard to believe.

If I was wanting it to be reliable I would build it boosted, with low boost for a daily. I'm gonna rebuild My Z6 beater soon, and just do a simple Zex cam, p29s, setup, and switch to an Si tranny. I don't want much power though. I have more need for reliablity. If I want fast, and reliable I have another car for that.

dont you guys realize a bullshit benchracing thread when you see it?

i translated the orignial post as such:

i have a single cam. im going to lie and say i had a couple b series motors to add a little credibility to my post. then im going to benchrace my *** of and ask you guys how i can make it fast. then ill act confused when i cant find the partso n the ricer aisle of pepboys"

BTW, fruitcake, nice avatar, this isnt myspace, we are all males here and no one wants to see a scraggly lil 17 yr old kid everytime we open a thread. thanks have a great day

It wouldn't last a day in a street car.
