My light weight setup..

Default My light weight setup..

At the end of the next step my Itr will be around 1030kg with 1/3 fuel empty, This is what I' ve done with some new pics:

Wingless
I have removed all the antinoise material
Full light weight exausth system
light weight wheels + lug nuts
Spoon calipers (stock calipers are very heavy!)
Ergal Rotors
Removed the entire audio system+cables
Removed air conditioned system
Removed the safety spare wheel + wood panel
Ergal screws (interior and engine bay)
Duracon shift **** + Sabelt racing steering wheel (without Ab)
Carbon fiber mirrors + others cf accesories
Light weight battery
Removed useless accesories
Light weight damper system
Light weight rear seats*


before carrying out the last modifications this was the weight (1/3 fuel empty)
(1040kg)
Now it is near 1030

*Rear seats have been modified...nobody can seat but in Italy is not street legal to remove them

2230 lbs!!!! noice!! what does an elise weigh?


1488lbs for 1996 elise is what i found. wow, never thought about just how light those cars are.

I can't man...at a first look my car have to be as possible similar as stock because I use my car also in the street.
In Italy also an aftermarket shift **** is not street legal, my car is not street legal like 80% of the cars that runs in Italy......it is a long speech

could save some more weight by switching those heavy jdm recaros to some light weight seats. What did u do with the the rear seats to make them lighter?

Firts generation Elise is near 750
Elise with Toyota engine is near 850

This is the right way for the elise

Typical of a Front wheel drive car

But I' have corner weighted my R and suspension setting have been done with me onboard!

So what exactly did you do to the rear seats? Did you cut up the foam/cushion or something from the base?

Oh right, I didn't notice that. I guess that would make the rear seats "un-sit-able". But can that plate really weigh that much? Or was there something additional done to reduce weight?

That's one of the hardest wieght reductions to do for some!

Heater core and more crap under the dash? I don't know how cold it gets in Italy in the winter, but that's a good chunk of weight. Maybe a CF hatch too? Lexan windows? Replace power windows and such in doors with manual ones? And yeah, if it's street legal, one of the biggest ones would be swapping out those Recaro seats for something else.

So they don't allow you remove the back seats or swap shift ***** for a street car.....but you can run a track day with no helmet?
