HASPORT MOUNTS after 5yrs of abuse
I've had these mounts in my cars for a little over 5 years. They were originally in my 90 civic si. I did the b16 swap senior year in high school. Then I drove the car to college for 4 years. It mostly sat parked but I probably drove the car like 4-5 times out of the week. Junior year in college I totalled the Si in the snow
and had to find a cheap shell. So I stumbled across a 88std model for $100, it was beat to hell and I shouldn't even of bought it, being broke in college sucked.
I swaped everything over into the new shell. Graduated from college last year and basically parked the car, considering I had a new daily driver. I still drove the car but maybe only like once a month if that. The 90 civic si and my 88 std is my autox car, so it has been threshed but not too much. I run hoosier slicks when I go autox but I haven't autox in a while due to not trusting the car. You will see what I mean later. I drag raced a couple of times, but nothing serious because I really don't care for it.
I noticed that when I would do full throttle pulls, it felt like the motor was jerking around in the engine bay. It also felt strange when I would autox and my lsd would rip me around a turn with the hoosiers. The car just didn't feel right and you see why........................

Is that second row of pics the back mount? Were you able to choose a bushing stiffness for the mounts like you can now? I wonder if that would have helped. I hope Hasports technology has advanced a little since then, I'm about to buy a set of their mounts and I hope they don't look like that in 5 years.
CREX23- Yes, the second row is the back mount. Back in the day you were not able to choose bushing stiffness unfortunately. Hopefully their technology has develop and made strides, but all rubber breaks down after time.
CRX_88_SI- They do have a liftime warranty. I actually contacted them yesterday and they told me to ship them out to them so they can replace the bushing. It would be nice if they would replace all the mounts, but thats pushing it....

I don't know if this helps at all since my bushings are stilll relatively new, but they don't use those red bushings anymore. I have the lowest durometer bushing and they are STIFF (I think they are 62). They have 3 levels of hardness.
I also don't have the welded mounts either........CNC machined parts look better

Aftermarket parts never do last unfortunately. I'm just wondering if they are going to replace the bushings with the same bushings. I'm not even remote sure that the new bushings even fit into the old bushings.
As with poly suspension bushings (which only last 1 to 2 years), it's just a wear item. I wouldn't specifically point fingers at HASport necessarily, poly is a good material, but it does wear out...
i have the same mounts and yes they are gauranteed for life i have broken the tranny mount 2 times and i have always gotten it back with a new bushing in it or even a whole new mount all together within a week
goodluck

At least they are hasport and not place racing (who?). I had some problems with their hydrokit last year and I talked to both brian and another tech, both very helpful dude.

How the hell did you break the tranny mount twice? Do have some 300 whp NA beast under your hood.

Stock honda bushings where out fast too. You'd be surprised how easily it is to kill a rubber bushing VS. a polyurethane bushing.
Besides, when you get Hasport mounts, you are swapping for bigger and better, of course you will beat on it, and you expect them to last forever? HASport has a lifetime warranty for a reason now.

try putting a set of oem mounts through that kind of abuse for 5 years and see what happens.

Stock oem mounts would of died a long time ago, believe me. You have to buy aftermarket parts if you want anything to really last, especially you start beating on your car.

Yea, I bought my REX with HAsport mounts already on it. I wish I knew once I put my newer B16 in that I should have had all the bushings warrantied because they were a little chewed up on the sides. I figured they would still last a while since they were so stiff but my rear did the same thing as yours just after a few hard launches at the strip and some hard daily driving. I replaced my bushing myself and paid the $20.00 cause I could not afford to have my car down for a week for the free warranty. it was easy to install once the mount was out, great mounts but yes they do and will wear out over time.

if you're bitching about hasport mounts wearing out after five years, especially after they'll replace them for free...
you're retarded.
if you're bitching about hasport mounts wearing out when you say you abuse the car....
you're retarded.
mounts are a wear item. they should be checked every season and likely replaced every three seasons.

Ok
1. I skipped the posts to give my respone, remember that.
Ok back to topic, those haspot mounts are like originals, they are so old, lol. Anyways..yeah they should put new bushings in them if not replace them, but try to get the hard ones, like extreme, cause if there gonna wear out over time and you can really dish out some abuse on them, then you might as well.
