Default ok i searched for hours and hours please help

ok there is fuel spark timing is right it turns over but wont start everything else works ....i know its getting fuel cause i can smell it the car did sit for about four months before i bought it cause i sold my 87 si any info apprechiated ..........i dont think its the main relay cause i smell fuel or could it be? my jeep is due for a bigger lift and a v8 so i need to drive the lude now

if you think it might be the mail relay then replace that...and if it doesnt work then thats obviously not the problem...Give that a try. It wont hurt. Other than that...I have no clue if its getting spark and fuel.

these type of thread topics are why you search for hours and hours with no results

how is someone with the same problem going to find this in the future?

Replace the spark plugs since they are probably fouled out and add some fresh gas.

i replaced wires plugs and everything pulled the hed valves are fine the only thing wrong was the timing belt i fixed that and bought plugs wires etc

are you sure the timing isn't off 180 degrees? Just a thought. Also, fresh gas.

i would double check to make sure timing is correct, dont bother with the main relay if you smell gas, it is working fine, make sure your plugs are not fouled because they probably are if you are smelling gas, also make sure your firing order is correct, and maybe also check to make sure the distributor isnt on 180 degrees off? I dont know if thats possible on those motors, but might be worth checking
