Default Is a tapered throttlebody important?

What is the difference between no tapered and tapered throttlebody ? I need a 65mm throttlebody to fit with my edelbrock intake manifold and wanna know what the difference is>?

The taper is supposed to increase the air velocity as it enters the manifold. I think a more important factor is matching the inlet sizes of the TB and manifold.
