Default 4th cylinder not firing?

ok i am helping a friend with a zc in a hatch with the old wireharness from a d15 chopped and ghetto rigged so the zc will run.(bought it like that) But for some reason the 4th cyliner is not firing i dont think. When i take the spark plug wire off the motor runs the same with it on (very crappy). It does have spark because i put the wire near metal and it jumped. I also tryed using a different injecter to see if that was the problem and still no luck. I also did a compression test and it reads 180?? Any help would be appreciated. thanks

do u have spark and fuel in that cylinder and it still isn't firing?

Probably the valves in the head are messed up in that cylinder. That's why my old motor had the same prob.

yea the guy we bought it from told us timing belt snapped and number 3 cylinder had no compression. But we tested and the head reads 180 all across?? Could it still be the head?

Haha, timing belt snapped? Definitely the valves. Pull the head off and you'll see. Mine had two valves with massive chips out of them...

If its not the valves, check the grounding straps from the battery to the frame/tranny, and from the valve cover to the radiator cross member....

My car ran like snot when I finally got it running, so, the only other thing I could do was replace the tattered old grounding straps, and it actually worked! This was after a complete tuneup.... May be worth checking???

took head off today. The new spark plug did not ever even ignite in cylinder 4. The wire harnes is all ghetto rigged so we are putting a new one in. Hoping that will fix the problems we have. The valves dont looked messed up at all either.

We actually just covered all the reasons why a cylinder wouldn't fire in auto class a few days ago. A classmate's truck wasn't firing in cylinder #3. Hrm I would give you advice on how to fix it but you appear to be a bigot SO have fun figuring it out.

It could be
1.) I's
2.) H.I.T.P.
3.) VS's That Aren't S'Ing
4.) CF'd P's
5.) Bad SPW's
6.) Bad D.R.
7.) Bad D.C.

Lol seriously though, have fun figuring that out.

Really tho your a F.U.C.K.I.N.G ***. Im not even sure why you pulled the head if it had good compression. Your a moron, and a racist *****, yet for some reason you feel like you still have ground to stand on.

Alright I'll spell it out for you since your racist brain can't understand it.

There was an experiment done to see if the theory concerning races and brain capacity was correct. You see, the theory was that Caucasians were the top of the evolutionary ladder while people of African and Middle-Eastern descent were lower, and thus had a lower brain capacity.

However, it was found that everyone was the same, equal. Thus, comments like "****** rigged" makes it sound like you are the one with a lower brain capacity. Thus, the diagram.

Get it now?

The wiring harness is about 1 of 12 things it could be. Getting a brand new harness when the VS's aren't S'ing or CF's SP's won't change a thing about that misfiring cylinder Mr.
