Would it be a safe idea if only running like 4 or 5psi with all stock internals

 

depends, depends, depends... is the engine in good shape? How's the compression? Does it burn oil? Does it run like a ratbag? Keep in mind, d16's have weak internals, especially high mileage ones. I wouldn't boost an engine like that unless it was in really good shape! On the other hand, they're easy to find if you blow yours up!

 

I wouldn't with that many miles, actually I would rebuild the motor even if it was newer so it could stand more boost

 

It would be safe as long as the motor is in good condition and you supply good fuel and spark. Tuning will be key with that high mileage. I would personally think about a rebuild first.

 

yeah thinkin about rebuilding with a1 pistions and a z6 head.
