Pre-turbo Modifications...?
It's so dissappointing hearing such bad things about the Greddy kit. I actually almost ordered it when it first came out, but something told me to wait and see if there are any bugs/issues that arrive since its so new, boy am I glad I waited. The "Marvie" kit sounds very impressive, but its hardly competitive to the cost of Greddy's kit, contrary to AllJaps statement regarding that. Well I'm thinking of just doing some pre-turbo modifications that would enable me to run more boost for early January(Turbo Time O.o), hopefully by then Greddy's issues will be worked out, or AllJaps kit will become significanly lower. Anyways, I was thinking about mods that will give me greater response now, yet also be beneficial to boost aswell, no sense wasting money on something I can't use in 4 months. I contacted Greddy and they told me that hondata wasn't compatible w/ emanage so its no use wasting that money if it isn't compatible. Anyone have any other suggestions (retainers, cams, pistons, rods maybe?) and know a reputable brand? My budget is 2300 dollars. Thanks for all help.

Depends on how serious you wanna get with the build before you get the turbo setup. I personally wouldnt really run turbo on this car without having a good program to tune with. Tuning is what will keep your motor safe. However if you wanna make the motor super strong, take it out and have it sleeved, bored out, billet rods, new pistons, etc. I would probably leave the head how it is, k-series heads flow very well and theres no point in changing the springs and retainers unless of course you wanna rev really high.
Thanks SpoonlnG2. I know tuning is important, thats why a N/A Type-S beat a guy w/ the Greddy kit, apparently emanage sucks... http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=418699. Maybe something better will be released sometime this year. I will start calling around to some local shops on a price for some internal work. What are some good sites for rods and pistons? Thanks for all the help.

raceeng.com The only problem with greddys kit is the E-manage. They had problems with the directions that are now fixed. Once a better engine managment comes along the greddy kit wont be that bad.
Theres always specials being run on honda-tech. Just check the market-place website. I personally prefer CP pistons, I ran them in my turbo motor and they were kick ***. I used H-beam crower billet rods as well along with Benson sleeves.
Check out First State Motorsports at http://www.fsmoto.com and tell them that Spoolng2(Josh) from honda-tech sent you. Josh and Dan over there know their **** and do great work.

Thanks SpoolnG2, I sent Josh an email since their site seemed disfunctional. A few of the links worked but the head work and engine components wasn't working, so hopefully things will be back working soon. Thanks for the help. My cousin just got a 06 Type-S A-Spec. He hasn't had the car for two weeks and already has an AEM CAI and we meet this guy at NOPI Nationals last weekend that sold his Type-S that had a DC race header for 200 bucks, so hes getting that next weekend. I gotta get boosted fast hes on my heels
