EF's are lighter (generally speaking) which means they'll be faster with less power but the EG has more aftermarket support. That's pretty much the only difference. Otherwise just a preference of looks. EF ftw

noo .. its not imported !! in my location, people dont care about old civics ... and whats also makes the prises like this that most of civics arent clean ( alot of accsidents and repanting to them ) ..

The ef's are a good 300 lbs lighter in most cases and that's a big difference when it comes to racing. It only takes 215 whp to get an EF into the 12's, it'd take good bit more than that for an EG.

if the lightness is not what you are looking for than go with what body style you like. I love an EF because its not too rounded and its not too boxy either

EF-Japan, EE-Europe, ED-Usdm, but everyone calls them EF anyways. I love mine, i have own 3 and am on my 4th right now, i also owned 2 crx and other acura/honda's along with a couple nissan's. Alot of reply in this thread from other members got it right on the money as far as styling, lightness, and knowing more then other civic owners, "i personally know this for a fact" so yeah. I grow tired of the EG hatchbacks, they are great and all but im not a big fan of their hydraulic clutch setup, or there dull interior, the rest of the car though is fine i would say.

It's a tough one. If you get a CX/VX chassis, then the EG is actually lighter than most of the EF chassis.
One thing I miss about my EG is the engine bay space, and the hydro tranny. It makes turbo projects and engine swaps cheaper and easier. I miss how much room I had for my turbo project on my EG, now I have an EF and I have to switch out the radiator, crossmember etc in order to fit a good sized turbo in there.
I'm still kicking myself for selling my EG

Ive had a 88Hatch already...had a crx...have a 94 coupe so Id would get a 92~95 CX or DX hatch and swap it....I think the 92-95 hatch is the best looking honda body when fixed up except the 88-91crx

I use to have a 92 VX EG, one of the best models to even have, and yes it is lighter then my ef i have atm since mine is a SI.
I also liked the engine bay space of course, who doesn't?, but then again i grew tired of the whole car in general after a little while of even having it.
It seems like having a EF there is always something "great" you can do too it, too me anyways, idk bout you other guys, not everybody is the same of course.
Let me explain it in a simpler way you all can relate too. Having a EG is kinda like that chick you wanna hit it on, but when you finally do your kinda disturbed or dislike it more then you thought you would, and it din't turn out to be so well after all.
I like my EF, because it seems too never grow tiresome, only the speed, after a little while i'll want to bump up the speed even more, not actually change the whole car for another one.
