Default Hood Cable Install

Broke my hood release lever this morning, went to pop the hood and it broke off. Went to honda to get a new one and ended up having to buy the whole cable, can't just get the handle. 20 bucks Anyway, anyone have some hints/tips on putting this in before i do it? I've got the basic idea of how it all goes and im sure its pretty easy, just figured i'd try and get a better idea so it doesn't take forever. Thanks for any help in advance.

Its not easy.. its actually kind of a pain in the ****.

Take your left fender and fender liner off. Then observe how your cable runs right now. Take special notice on how it runs from under the fender, past the left headlight, and twists under the radiator support.

I was lame and just pulled mine out without looking, so when it came time to run the new one, I had to fight it and it took way longer than it should have.

When you pull your old one out, take extra special care on removing those little white clips. The break easy, and are a buck or two each from honda.

reroute it. route it inside the engine bay, not under the fender

Remove the fender and liner, then just go from there. It was easy for me to do it the first time I did. Just look at the way it is routed.

Same here. I think it took me a total of 30 mintues because I was trying to get the latch back on in the exact same spot.

Cool, i wasn't liking the idea of taking it off. I'll try doing it without removing it first and see how it goes. Thanks
