I had an 89 civic si and blew the tranny in the spring. I was bored today so decided to see what was up. Anyone have the diff. blow apart like this? (completly stock car/motor 160kmi)






it gave way under normal daily driving too

lmk if anyone needs misc. tranny parts

 

That looks like oil starvation.


I blew a B16 tranny and it looked like that.

thats what i was thinking. I'd rather have it happen to this then a b16 tranny though

I just scraped it and got another one for like 1g.

daaaaaaamn, i replaced this for 50 bucks. I decited to do the clutch at the same time too.

 

i broke mine just like that it was during a burnout tho. dam d-series lol

 

My tranny took a crap on me as well in my 91 si hatch when i had it. under acceleration and turning left it would be constant loud clunks, but when i turned right, nothing.

 

now thats a open diff lol :x

happened to me with an 89si tranny under normal driving

 

i started on a hill one time. snap.

exact same thing hapened to my diff.. same marks and pieces
