Problem with brakes..MC just replaced
hello all, have a problem with brakes on a 89 Honda Civic. When the car is not running and I step on the brakes, it takes a couple of pumps of the pedal to get some pressure behind it. Then, when I start the car, the pedal drops to the floor and when driving it is difficult to stop the car. With no chance of locking up the brakes do to the lack of pressure. The master cylinder is brand new. I am going to bleed the brakes, but any other ideas would be great.. TIA

booster sounds like it's working. did you bench bleed the mc before installing it?
if you didn't remove the two lines from the mc and install some clear tubing. make sure the two pieces of tubing are routed to the reseroir. fill the mc with fluid. pump the pedal until all the air is gone. reconnect the hardlines and bleed your brakes.
