I have a WS 2 on my RSX right now and it's really quiet. Sometimes I feel that it's quieter than my stock exhaust. I like though, I don't know if I'd say it's cheap, but it's about the price range of all the other full cat-back systems.

How much did you pay? I found one for $390 which is the cheaest ive seen for a full catback. Also do you have a soundclip of it by any chance?

Thermal R&D makes a very good exhaust. I have had mine almost a year now, and I like it better than the WS2. The WS2 is only a mild coated stainless steel, while the Thermal is a full stainless. Plus it is just a TAD louder, but nothing excessive.

I just went to thermal r&d site and all they have is an exhaust for the 02 type s , but its for a turbo setup. nothing else.

It definitely doesn't fit in the realm of cheap/inexpensive/average price. Toda makes excellent quality products and they have the price to go with it. I think there is a sound clip on the site I linked too above.

$390 is a good price. That includes shipping? I paid alittle over $400 w/ shipping.

Do they only make WS2 for RSX Type-S only? Will it fit on the base?

THey make it only for the Type-S, but I have a base. So I took it to a muffler shop and they welded on an extension so that it would fit my car.

As mentioned, Type S exhausts and Base exhausts are not interchangable. You will need to have a muffler shop modify them either way you go.

If your car is otherwise stock, an exhaust won't add much power. Intake is probably your best bet and much cheaper.

Or even keep your OEM exhaust and look at getting a header.

I've ask people around here. Like what if I install a header and kept the exhaust. People say its not gonna do you any good? Is this true? Headers must do something.

Yes.
(my EP with a JDM CTR-spec catback, but the principle is the same)
