which one do you have?

eg/and i think ek hooks to oem towhook area fits just below the front bumper. on the drivers side

or this one:
eg and possibly ek, this one has a curved upper arm which pushes the "hole" forward about 4mm and hook sits about 4mm lower aswell. both lower "hole" bars are equal in length aswell.

dc2 or ek not too sure. fits through the front bumper if i remember correctly on the passenger side

ok, ive never had to put in the second versions but i think those you will need to drill a hole in the bumper frame. because these are the ones that go between the bumper center area (like where an intercooler would go) of the dc2 and the ek. sorry cant help other than that...

but take your bumper off and find a screw hole. i dont think spoon made the tow hooks to have to do any cutting, but i could be wrong. spoon and mugen are usually alot better in their parts as far as making them plug and play. im not too familiar with the ek bumper area

also searching spoon tow hook in the archive will show some integras maybe you can pm those peeps to see how they installed it?

I dont want to jack this thread or anything but I have been asked this question several times by different people. What is the purpose of a tow hook on a street driven car? For track only car I can see but I dont know for street cars. Not hating or anything I just dont have a good answer when asked, thats all.

for me its pointless on a street car, i have them merely for its rarity and that alone.

and dont worry about a good answer when asked. theres more **** to worry about in this world than car parts and what parts are suppose to be used for what.

remember we have alot of "kids" on this board

well. im not too familiar with the two different designs, im not sure if their different due to which ones the suppose to be used for, eg, dc or ek. all i know is the top one if for the eg and i know their is a slightly different two piece that extends the hole about 1/2 an inch forward.(i'll find photos of this tow hook) the part that attaches to the car has a curve in it (i just sold it on ebay a couple of months but didnt save photos of it) i measure both on my eg and the curved armed one sat lower (about 4 mm from bottom of bumper) and extended the hole forward about another 4mm, compated to the straight arm version (top photo)
heres the photo of the curved arm. so there are as far as i know 3 different designs.

and as far as the spoon insignia, i have only seen the 3 rear spoon tow hooks with the spoon insignia and all were in japan. so not sure if they were early prints, misprints from factory, or only available in japan markets...

Ive also never installed one on an ek, but the 3 hole pattern looks the same as the 3 hole pattern for the stock tow hooks.. right? To me it looks like you unbolt the stock hook, and bolt the spoon unit up. I also dont think spoon makes anything you have to hack up to make it fit.

thats correct it goes on the oem tow hook location. and as far as the 2nd photo, it has to go to a preexisting hole on the bumper support area i would assume.

Well that will have to make them happy for now. Some hardcore domestic co-workers, think just because I drive a civic I have allt he answers for everthing. I know when I get the money and time to build me a drag car its, going to have one on it. Thanks. Oh, the ricer kids in this town love tow hooks, they are more important than paint on there F+F body kits from that I see. I am guessing those are the kids you are refering to.
OP: Good luck on the install and post some pics.

I had to drill holes in the bumper support. I bought the nagisa tow hooks.

Well actually I took the oem to hook off cut and made it into a braket and then drilled holes into the bumper support and attach the bracket on there and then the hook to the bracket.

And then I cut and used the other piece of the oem tow hook for the rear bumper so I could fully extend the rear tow hook. All this I did with the almighty dremmel.

The reason why I bought the tow hooks was so I could do the floating sprite can trick and also keep people off of my rear.
