1st Time w/ Hatch (Input wanted)
Well I can't say I'm "dissapointed" in anything except lack of runs and SUPER LONG waits. The staging lines were back to the damn tech inspection area with lanes 2-7 open. It was stupid, 1hr + waits per run. I got 3 runs in before I decided it was just stupid. I need to catch it on a night where it threatens to rain and scares all the big trailer queens away.
Anyway here is the times followed by factors.

I posted the info to help you guys get a feel for track conditions and car setup. The car felt to be running great that night, nothing mechanically wrong. I understand that lack of a decent header and cat is holding me back a little bit , but this time next year the car will be seeing boost so I dont feel like throwing cash in that area when I can put the cash away for the build.
I just picked my hatch up about 3 weeks ago and this was my first time @ the track and really laying it down. I think with the weight of the car and the motor/tranny I should be able to get a 2.0 60ft, but I wasn't really given much time to change launch strategies, etc. Shifts were fast and smooth, and I don't know how the trap looks according to the 1/4mi times. At launch I was experiencing wheelhop
(1st run dropped clutch at 3-4k, 2nd I feathered and it never hooked up and i got impatient, 3rd run I road the clutch, feathered throttle launching at 4k, untill hookup, spun tires going into 2nd, and chirped 3rd. I feel traction is an issue with the 195's and the tires regardless. Overall, I think I just need more seat time and runs under my belt with the new car. My main focus will be traction during the offseason.
I think its capable of at least shaving another .25sec in current trim. You guys???????

hey buddy im glad to see you got it to the track. Just to give you something to think about...before this hatch i had a 00 si with i/h/e and i took it to the track 2 times with the same mods both times. The first time I had like 5 runs with an average of 15.7's and a best of 15.6. The next time I went to the track the weather was not as prime as last time even. I was running an average of 15.5 with a best of 15.30. The reason for the better times was my 60' and shift points.
so keep practicing and get a feel for the shift points and most of all work on launching. next time throw the vx wheels on the back of the car for even more weight reduction and raise the back up an inch or so as well. be sure the suspension in on full stiff in the back and maybe a notch softer in the front to help with the wheel hop.
There is no reason why you cant hit 13's in prime condition with it stripped.
good luck
ps: your trap speeds seem low to me, what rpm where you shifting at? with that set up you should be more like 99-100mph

it looks like you just need a little more practice......your trap speeds seem to be about right, so i don't believe there are any major mechanical problems.
your last run run had a little better 60' and .2 better 1/8 then your next fastest run. like you said, you didn't get too many runs in; i wouldn't make any conclusions until you get a little more seat time. assuming you dont have any mechanical/electircal problems (check engine lights?), i think you'll continue to get a little better

yeah thats not bad, that 60 foot is killin u i bet, i would invest in some radials at least, maybe even slicks if you don't dump ur clutch off the line, and with wheel hop, get different tires, but i got urethane mounts and traction bars, and then there was no more wheel hop, just some words of advice, good times for first time though, i think my first was 17 something now im 13.35 well keep it up
It's not to bad man, I built a similar setup for a friend last year only CTR pistons and AEBS manifold, other than that his mods were pretty much dead on to yours. He was able to pull off a 14.20ish at 98 mph which I would think was on par for the added compression he had over you. For the first time out that isn't bad. Some sticky tires and maybe a bit of Crome lovin and you could see some deep 14's, if not a 13.90ish with a wicked 60ft.

Im shifting right around 8k. I'll pay more attention next time to hitting it right at 8200. But i already threw out 800 in the car this month.
Next month I will pick up my Hid's, Engine Dampener, and Polyurethane motor mount inserts. Then in the offseason I'll get a nice set of traction bars and slicks and start launching at 7k dropping the clutch.... Time to break some parts.......
I'm gonna go out friday night more than likely and give it another whirl. I'm really hoping for around a 14.4 if I can get the 60ft taken care of and really try and eliminate the wasted power going up and down instead of forward. Thank you guys for advice so far.

Looks like a track that is just a hair on the slow side. I believe my best 60` with those tires was a 2.24. So not too bad. I don`t know what the tires are even capable of.
Well Im headed back down tonight with the car in the same trim, maybe a gallon less of fuel and I'll take a nice #2.......But we will see. Im gonna try a few more launching techniques, try a burnout for a little, try with normal PSI, then back down to 20psi see if that affects the trap, but ill post the results.
