MC/BB question
Ok i converted to rear disc on my 00 ex. The pedal feel isn't too bad, but if it could be improved that'd be cool too. My buddy has a SiR MC which is 15/16 and i was wondering if i could just bolt it up to my brake booster. I've heard some say you shouldn't and some say you can. What is the reasoning behind this? Also will the 16th of an inch make a difference or should i just grow a pair and buy an ITR mc/bb ?
1" master cylinder will definately help your pedal feel. I LOVE mine.
I say grow a pair and get the big one. You wont regret it man. Ive actually been able to lock the fronts up at 70 mph.

Nope, not for 98+

I got my 1" MC with the matching booster from a junkyard teg(non ITR). The booster was leaking, so i got another one from the autoparts store. Forget what application though.
well i know that the larger the MC, the less pedal travel you will have because you're moving more fluid. Some people like a lot of travel, i personally like a tighter pedal because if it travels too far i can't heel and toe properly. I've finally adjusted to mine, but it could be better, which is why i was asking.
the larger the MS diameter will cause a more solid pedal.
BUT will cause your pedal motion to be reduced in order to modulate.
So your braking will be quicker but less accurate feeling.
In case you're curious how I know this... I've had a 7/8", 15/16" and 1" with the same setup for the rest of the car.

depends on which type of driving you do.
strip or general street driving the 1" is fine.
But for the track the 15/16" is more to my liking.
I have the 1" on there now and I don't get quite enough feedback through the pedal for my taste.

yeah my buddy has a 15/16th that i could grab off him cheap. Can you notice the difference in pedal travel between the 7/8 and 15/16? Could i just throw the 15/16 on the 7/8 booster without problems?
the 15/16" from the EF sedan that everyone talks about on here bolts right to the civic BB.
Others will need the right BB to use.
Noticing 7/8 to 15/16... it really depends on your driving style and how sensitive you are.

I got a question about the stampings on the side of the MC. On my civic you can see where it says 7/8, but on my integra it just has a big 1. Now it's a 97 gs and is stock so i'm assuming that 1 doesn't mean squat and it just is a 15/16?
yes 1 on the side means 1"
I believe 99-00 si's are 7/8"
All the DX's ive seen are 13/16"
I replaced the 13/16 on my crx with a 15/16" from a 90 prelude and it is definately noticable. I like the Added pressure of the bigger MC. I also replaced my ek 13/16 with a 1".
I believe there are 2 main style of bolt patterns.
Diagonal- Integras (non ITR)
Horizonal- Civic DX style
Someone correct me if im wrong
