honda hates kids
i noticed something funny today. i put my backpack on the passenger seat and i guess it was under 40lbs. so the passenger airbag turned off (child safety feature). so the car thinks theres a chld sitting in the passenger seat but the seat belt light didnt come on and no buzzer. does honda not care about children wearing their seat belt or is there another sensor like in the back rest or something? weird.

if your child is under 40 lbs they should be sitting in the back

And regrettably people use their kids as test dummies daily.
Honda has a large section in the manual on the best way to seat children in their cars. If the parents choose to ignore it, then they take their children's lives in their own hands.

the car doesn't know what is in the front seat except for something under 40lbs, which is why the light doesn't come on. it would be pretty annoying to have a warning light on when no one is really in the front seat

exactly. how does the car differentiate(sp?) an object from a child. it turns the airbag off cuz there is a child in the seat because its dangerous but it wont let you know if your kid is wearing their seat belt or not. so i came to the conlcusion that honda doenst care about kids. lol

Air Bag & Seat Belt Safety Tips
Air bags and safety belts save lives. All Americans, and especially parents and caregivers, need to understand how to maximize the lifesaving capabilities of these safety devices and minimize the risks.
KIDS RIDE IN BACK. Infants should NEVER ride in the front seat of a vehicle with a passenger air bag. Children, typically ages 12 and under, also should ride buckled up in the back seat.
CHILD SAFETY SEATS. Young children and infants always should ride in age- and size-appropriate child safety seats. The safety seat should be held properly in place by the vehicle's safety belts and the child should be correctly buckled in the child safety seat. A child who has outgrown a convertible child safety seat will need to ride in a booster seat for the vehicle's safety belts to fit properly.
WEAR BOTH LAP AND SHOULDER BELTS. The shoulder strap should cross the collarbone, and the lap belt should fit low and tight. The shoulder strap should never be slipped behind the back or under the arm - this is a dangerous habit, especially in cars with air bags.
MOVE THE FRONT SEATS BACK. Driver and front passenger seats should be moved as far back as possible, particularly for shorter statured people.

How are they out to get you when you aren't even supposed to sit a lighter than 40 pound child in the front seat. It says it on your sun visor, ownsers manual and on the seat belts.
It is YOUR responsibility to make sure the child is safe and secured in the car.
