That wasn't related to this topic at all, the mods frown on that....

The type s does not have the K20Z3, its a K20 yes, but a different model. Our engine doesnt have the same throttle system, it runs on Drive-By-Wire instead of a cable system. Any existing apex-i systems will not work well with these motors to the best of my knowledge.

And is you tune it right, along with having the accomodating mods to the engine to help supply the motor, then it will do you fine. But I would rather go with K-Pro.

You supply the ECU, about 1,100 to 1,200 bucks according to http://www.hondata.com

With buying a new ECU, 1,700 to 1,800 bucks. But those are 02-06 RSX-S models, but that is assuming prices will be about the same.

Shop around, I am sure you could find them cheaper.

I'm still learning about all this. What's the difference in K-Pro and the reflash that hondata offers.

K-Pro is fully user adjustable, tuneable, and usable Engine Management system. You can tweak it to accompany new mods, and tune it on the dyno or on the street.

A reflash just "renews" the ECU with a non-adjustable tune. It has to be purchased with the current mod list you have now. Per se, You already have an intake and catback. You have to buy a reflash that will accompany those 2 mods. But if you want to add more mods, Cams, Race Headers, Cam gears, etc. you have to reflash the ECU again.

You cannot adjust anything with a reflash such as VTEC points, fuel maps, ignition curves or whatever.

Reflash is not worth the money in my opinion because you cannot "tweak" anything. Better to wait for K-Pro, which will hopefully be in the next year or 2. Anyone heard any differently?
