98-02 Accord OEM Deck works on 96 Accord?????

the one in my 96 accord is no longer working, and i just found one from a 00 Accord, so i wonder if it will plug right in??? or do i need a conversion harness????

tried last night, plugs are different.........
the 01 one that i tried have a seperator plate in the plug, where the 96 one doesn't.........

You are right the plugs are diff. but all you need is there 2 "adapter plugs"... http://www.scosche.com/scosche...HA02B to plug into your car, and this one to plug into the HU... http://www.scosche.com/scosche...A08RB yes they both have colored wires that you connect together to make the 96-00 adapter.
Mounting the HU will be another issue... http://www.installdr.com/Insta....html as you can see they use diff. mounting systems.

I stand corrected... It's strange though. I have an extra aftermarket wire harness (for installing aftermarket decks) and it's labeled for 90-02.
Honda/Acura has 2 types of plugs, [3 if you count pre 86] the change over years, from old to new plugs started in 1997 and ended in 1998... http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/HA-Wiring.pdf between 97 -98 some models used older plugs and some the newer ones. It depended on what year the model change was made.
