Default 95 Accord, car suddenly has poor acceleration

Well, I just recently took my car to a local shop to have the water pump and timing belt replaced, it is a 95 Accord EX with about 150k miles.

The day I picked up the car (4 days ago) I started noticing that my car suddenly has poor acceleration. It seems to be when I first start the car I have to give it some gas just to get it started. Then, once I get going and come to a stop, I will have to floor the gas and I barely move for about 5-10 secsond, then the car gets going. After that it seems to be ok, but I have not driven the car for more than 15 miles at a time since I got it back from the shop.

I have never had any problem of this sort. Could it be something the mechanic did when replacing the water pump and timing belt? Could it be my transmission?

Thanks for any help/advice!

I had that same problem. I brought it to a small shop and had them replace my water pump and timing belt. 3-5 days later I got it back and it was HORRIBLE. At first I jsut thought it needed time to break in. It got to the point where it was a safety hazard ( SLOW ACCEL on HIGHWAY, random shut offs). I brought it to HONDA and upon arrival, the mechanic already knew what was the problem once he took a look under the hood. They did'nt even change my water pump and my timing belt was'nt the right one. to small, shady shops.

Your timing is off. probably by one tooth. take it back and have them fix it again.
