Default which magnaflow muffler.

I don't have any personal experience with Magnaflow mufflers, but I do have two magnaflow resonators on my car and I want to get rid of the fart cannon in favor of a quieter muffler

I want it as quiet as possible without sacrificing too much performance. It will be on a D16A6 (11:1 compression, delta 272 cam, i/h/e z6 manifold) Anyways...What is your experience with Magnaflow, and which design should I go with?

Straight thru?

or multi-chamber?

I can get a clip of my 2.5" straight through magnaflow, but it's on a turbo app so it probably won't sound the same as a na.

Ive used a straight through but it had a slant in the center of it. It was 3inch and sounded great. Straight through isnt as loud as people would think, nice and deep and doesnt mess with flow.

Looks like this inside:

I'd go with straight through cuz obviously there is less restriction, especially if it's going on a turbo car.

i have had both, yes the 2.5 in and out muffler i had that was twin chamber was much quieter, but when i put the 2.5 in and out straight through, it got louder but not loud like ricer raspy loud, it was still deep and mainly louder when i got on it, it also was a gain, i can say honestly on my setup that the straight through was like going from stock muffler to 2.5 straight through. it was pretty dramatic and iw as instanly happier when i left the exhaust shop

Thank you all for your input.

This is not going to be on a turbo car. I've also been researching the Dynomax Super Turbo. It flows extremely well for a multi-chamber muffler, and it's quiet too.

But if there's really that much of a difference in performance I'll have to go with the straight thru.

you know whats funny lol, the muffler you stated is exactly the twin chamber i used (super turbo) but both mufflers were both 2.5 in and out. I could tell from the get go that it felt better, yes it was louder but quieter then most aftermarket n1/greddyevo/hks/etc so yes i woudl recommend the magnaflow straight through in a heart beat and also because cops think its stock which is one of the biggest reasons why i changed from n1 to oval style

well it's going on a CRX, that already has an exhaust system, I'm just replacing the muffler. Using the stock location etc.
