Default greddy mx

i just got my mx installed today. very nice and quiet so far. one problem though, my shifter seems to feel sticky now and seems like the shift linkage is rubbing against the piping and causes rattles sometimes. Does anyone else here have this problem on their SP or MX or any other exhaust. I'm running hasport mounts and shift linkage with my b16. anyone know of a quick fix.

Well the resonator is slightly larger than the stock one and I believe it moves it further forward. Do you have a short shifter? When I installed my short shifter I had to grind the linkage a bit so it wouldn't rub. Just hit the linkage with a dremel for a minute and you'll be fine.

hey thanks for helping me out. i just got this installed and haven't had a chance to look under the car yet since i'm at work but your right about the resonator, it is a bit big. I do have a short shifter as well.

can you clarify what you mean by grinding the linkage? Are you cutting pieces off the linkage itself. If so, can this be done with out removing anything from the car. i don't have a dremel tool at home but will a hammer and or anything else work on fixing it. and if you do cut it, did you have to remove so much that the linkage itself could possible be weaker in terms of stability. i just don't want to cut or bend the linkage so much that i will be needing a new one in a year because it has rusted and gotten weak to the point where it will break off easily.

When I got the greddy MX I had to go back to my stock shifter.

hmmmm...

you need to have your exhaust hang lower. just bend the hangers on the car down and/or the hangers on the exhaust up until the linkage clears the exhaust.
