Default carbon fiber trunk

searched with no luck..

i have come across a VIS carbon fiber trunk for dirt cheap.. shipping company made a mistake at one of the local shops and sent them a 94-97 2dr dc2 trunk. they were suppose to have shipped a trunk for a db8..

any how my question is.. is there anybody that has put a vis carbon trunk on their itr.. how was the fitment? and while my itr is a 98, im guessing the only part i would have to switch out is the trunk latch mechanism to a 97 latch. or i could just get a pair of mugen or spoon trunk latches.. and of course i would be filling it with a FAL lexan window.

and i know how some of you feel about carbon fiber.. however i like the look and the weight savings is pretty good with the fal window as well..

oh and when i say dirt cheap... in the $250 range... shipping an item of that size up here to ak is not cheap..

Fitment is not bad, the edges where it meets the hatch bumps up a tad. As far as weight savings, I believe it's not as much as one would believe from what I have heard.

go for it. I think it looks pretty cool and you'd be dropping anywhere from 30-50 lbs if you use the FAL window. Definately get it, you'd also be able to swap your entire hatch assembly back when you got tired of the CF w/ FAL - no glass swapping would be necessary.

if its a good deal like 250, get it, use it and have fun. when it comes time to sell you could squeeze $400 from it if you keep it mint.

oh...and of course take some pics!

the backyard special trunk is only ~8lbs, if the vis is 30lbs then i think you should look elsewhere

i believe on VIS website, it says the trunk is only 11lbs without the glass...30lbs is what you would save from stock i believe...but i could be wrong but nonetheless, it looks tite...hehehe
