my inlaws give my wife there 94 civic with the 1.6 sohc vtec and the auto trans shifts at 5000 rpm and it has no power and you cant feel the vtec.
and it just had a new head and is well matained it has always done this
i would think it should shift at redline if WOT right?

 

Its an automatic its not goign to go fast its only going to care about what the ecu tells it and the ecu tells it to get the best gas mileage. If you dont like it sell it for something else.

at WOT shouldnt it go to red line? i dont want it for a race car i have a 94 mustang cobra for that, but i do want it to run right and it dont have the power my wifes 89 did.

 

5000-5200 is redline. the limiter is at 6200

 

red line on this one is 6200.

 

Is that what the dyno says or the gauge cluster.

 

I'm going to paint the wall with grey matter next time someone wonders why their automatic isn't fast.
