Default Got some news on IPS Cams!!!!

Just for you guys looking not to do boost and keep more civility and reliablity here is what they said.

"Actually, we successfully implemented IPS-K2 cams and our valvetrain for the `06 Civic Si at last year’s SEMA show for Temple of VTEC ’s project Si. We are currently working on a comprehensive package with a dedicated reflash developed by Hondata exclusively for IPS. It will support IPS-K2’s, CAI, our header and exhaust. Please do not contact Hondata as it is still in development."

I ask for a price and if you could use the new reflash from hondata just to put the cams and valvetrain in. So you could use a different exhaust and header if wanted and they said this

"Despite already having a Hondata reflash, it will need to be upgraded once they package is finalized. I will work out upgrade pricing with Hondata. Regarding the cams and header bundle price, that is still yet to be determined."

So that is just some info for u guys, thought I would share.

I just looked at their website I am guessing with the package with cost about 2500 with their header and exhaust cams and avalvetrin and reflash from hondata. I know with just their cams and valvetrain it is about 1600 bucks. That is their K2 cams and Eibach EVS w/ Ti retainers. I would also upgrade the head gasket and head studs while I have it apart.

2500...? Wouldnt you be better off getting a turbo kit for a little more?

Wonder if this kit would work on a hybrid motor, i.e. K24 bottom block and K20z3 head/tranny

I don't see why not as the only difference would be the bottom end but not sure how you would tune it

Interesting, I wonder what their costs will be on a race header and exhaust?? Also I wonder what size the exhaust will be. I know they make good cams, so i'm interested to see what their other products are like.

I contacted them again to see if the stock valvetrain will work as I currently have the hondata reflash and rev to 8600 rpm all the time and just wan to know that if i know if I keep my stock springs and retainers in and put there cams in and have it reflashed that I will be ok and not be risking major damage to my motor due to have a stock valve train. Of course I woudl replace all the springs and retainers and keepers with new parts when i do the cams.

Depends, you have to look at the lift and duration on both of the cams. One can be more aggressive then the other. As far as quality, they are both great cams. However I would probably go with the IPS' b/c they work directly with hondata and make reflashes specifically for their cams.
