bypassing crank position sensor
I have a 98 ls integra but i have recently dropped an a1 block with a b1 head and the a1 block does not have the sensor. on the b1 obd2 block its positioned by the crank pully but the a1 obd0 does not have it. i want to bypass it so it does not effect my motor and can't figure it out hopefully someone can help me. also someone told me to just get a piggy back chip preferably a mugen and it would eliminate that sensor but i don't know how much he really knows thx.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the A1 does have it. But instead of being located at the crank like your 98, it's in the distributor (like my OBD1, for example).
Though if they give the same signal/reading/etc, I don't know...

Ah, I see you did write that, it just didn't register in my head. Ok since I'm not at work, I can't check the manuals to compare. But did they go to the crank position sensor at the crank in 96 (instead of in the distributor), when they switched to OBD2? For some reason I have it in the back of my mind that it was still in the distributor for 96 and 97, and switched in 98...I know that doesn't make sense, but I just thought I remembering reading that somewhere.
Regardless of that, and this is sort of a last resort, but you could always take an OBD1 (or 0, I guess) distributor, cut of the plugs, and splice your single OBD2 plug on. Before anyone laughs, it works. My brother was in a bind once where he needed an OBD0 distrubutor, and I had an OBD1 laying around. So I cut off the OBD1 plugs, spliced the OBD0 plugs on, and it worked for 2 months til he finally got around to buying the correct one...
So yah, an OBD1 would give you the sensor you need, which you would just have to wire up yourself to the wires already there (but in a different location). Going back to my first post though, I'm only assuming that both those sensors work the same and give the same reading (as in pulse/voltage/etc).

just put the b1 oil pump on the a1 block
the crank position sensor aides in fuel and ignition timing so it would not be very good to drive without it
